Here at First Baptist Camilla, our youth dept. is referred to as "The Upstairs". This is based on the passage found in Mark 14:15, "And he himself will show you a large upper room furnished and ready; prepare for us there." (Mark 14:15 NASB). It is our purpose that our youth be prepared for daily challenges now and also what will be coming their way, leaving the safety and comfort of home to further education or just entering the "real world". Jesus in this passage was preparing both Himself and His disciples for the events that were about to take place, so how important is it that our youth be grounded in Scripture and secure in the faith of Jesus Christ. We do this thru a variety of things including Sunday School, Wednesday night gatherings, camps, and mission trips. We also have times of just pure fun, food, and fellowship.
